Since this question was posted I received my official gpa which is a UW 3.895 and weighted is above a 4.0.

As for my resume I’ve been on newspaper for four years and I am Editor this year. I know basically anyone applying to Newhouse is on newspaper but ours is nationally ranked and has a staff of 82 students plus online so I am hoping it sets my position apart.

I am involved in a number of leadership organizations and community service organizations including Boy Scouts of America Explorers Club (president), National Technical Honor Society (historian), Leadership Council ect.

For the past 2 years I’ve worked writing for the SBISD Communications Dpt. I know it is a local publication but the kind of work I do is not intern work; all of my duties consists of purely writing, interviewing, website designing, posting, and editing other full time employee’s writing. I am frequently published in The Houston Chronicle, The SBISD School Zone, and The Memorial Examiner.

I also have earned multiple journalism specific awards for my writing and editing–locally, regionally, and nationally.

I feel confident about my application but I am terrified that it isn’t enough.

Any thoughts?
