I’m a senior at a public high school in South Florida so it’s hard to get information about Syracuse down here.
-First in my family to attend college, hispanic-female, lower-middle class
-My ACT score is a 29, new SAT score is a 1260
-Top 14% of my class
-Weighted GPA is a 4.3, unweighted is 3.4
-highest math is calculus, ap lang, ap bio, and ap world history, other classes are completely honors, 8 classes at Broward college
-some leadership experience, DECA executive vice president and historian, Editor-in-chief of our Yearbook, Varsity soccer, varsity cross country, senior class club, and other small things
-loads of volunteer work, raised over $2,000 for a community foundation, founded a domestic violence awareness campaign, hundreds of hours at animal shelters
I’m worried I don’t have the credentials to get in, although I am fully dual-enrolled at Broward College and pulled 3 A’s and a B+ this semester so I expect my GPA to go up a lot this December update. I applied as a regular decision graphic design major at Newhouse as my first choice but other discussions are saying how difficult it is to get into, please any advice helps, thank you!
