Hey I saw that the only RD discussion was a combined one with the class of 2021 and it’s super long, so here’s a new one. Anyone else already getting nervous/excited for a decision?
I’m hoping the decisions come soon. I’m getting so impatient.
when did regular decision come out last year?
I’m really nervous on behalf of my D who is terrified of landing at her safety. Newhouse is harder to predict than SU overall.
I’m also nervous on my behalf as relates to financial aid.
I doubt decisions will come out until around early March… one of my friends from 2 years ago said she heard on March 31st… hopefully they are speedier than that
Bumping this thread…anyone have inside scoop on when decisions will be released?
How are decisions announced? Via email? My Slice? Snail mail?
I loved SU when I visited but it’s so hard to get to from Idaho… hopefully I’ll get some merit money and it will be worth it.
My son was deferred from ED to regular decision . Hopefully all decisions come out by March.
I spoke to admissions yesterday - they are expecting them to ‘start’ coming out mid-March and roll out over the balance of the month…doesn’t sound as if its one day for whatever reason.
Thanks @A1A1A1 and geez
Hi everyone! Share stats here too! And where else you are applying.
I think the other post only said 2022 because it included the 5 year programs like architecture. It’s way too long and confusing and should probably be closed by the CC powers that be.
My daughter is applying for visual arts with Journalism as her second choice and school of arts and sciences undeclared as her third choice. She has already been accepted to UConn, Rutgers, University of Delaware and Temple. Waiting to hear from Syracuse and Fordham.
Her school already sent mid year grades in (which just raised her GPA). Current stats:
GPA 3.77
ACT with writing: 30 composit and 11 out of 12 (99th percentile) on the essay.
Scholastic Gold Key winner for photography, honorable mention for painting.
Many art awards over the years and involvement in a volunteer urban community mural project. Honors classes with 3 APs. Took 4 college credits of fine arts classes last summer.
We have yet to visit Syracuse (had to cancel campus visit last fall due to a death in the family) so hotel recommendations welcome.
@JerseyMom2022 The Hotel Skyler, right on campus, is a Hilton property and usually has good rates. Easy walk to starbucks, before campus tour. I have stayed there many times and it is a little quirky, but can’t beat location. I also stay at the Embassy Suites or the Hilton Garden Inn, a bit further away but typically $125 or less.
My Son is waiting to hear, Engineering/Computer Science. GPS 4.35 (weighted) Honor role 7 semesters, many Honor/AP courses, 1280 SAT. 2 sport athlete, and student teacher (crazy, i know) for two courses.
Very impressive grades! Thank you so much for the hotel recommendation. We just need to stay 2 nights. It’s 3.5 hours away by car. @2chicagokids
This sounds super weird, but I just received an email from Syracuse saying that the admission committee has reached a decision on my application to their school. I was a little bit shocked 'cause the admission letter came into my mailbox way too early–it’s only mid-Feb after all. Nevertheless, I’m grateful that I’ve got admitted into Syracuse and am given quite a generous amount of annual scholarship too. All the best to those who are still waiting for a reply from Syracuse.
@iamsarah congrats! Can you share your stats and major?
@Mcjc626 Thanks! I’m an international student, and my HS follows the Bitish education system. Not sure if my stats can be a good reference for you but I’ll share em anyway:
O-level: 8A,1A,1A-
A-level: 2A,2A
SAT: 1480 (Math: 770, CR: 710)
SAT II: Math II(780), Bio(740)
EC’s: leader of woodwind in school’s orchestra, won a couple of international music competitions, performed at National concerts twice, also performed with a renowned Japanese flutist in a concert, was placed second in an international art competition, and some other random activities (Smh heavily art-inclined) /
Major: Biology
Good luck to you!
@iamsarah that’s wonderful! I am so happy for you! What does your portal say?
@JerseyMom2022 Thanks! My admission status is displayed under the Admission To Do Items section on the portal.
Waiting to hear, Syracuse is my daughters first choice. She has applied to the school of Arts and Sciences (psyc. Major) Accepted into UTenn honors program and FSU. Her stats:
3.56 gpa. (3.97) weighted 5AP’s
1310 sat
28 act
nat hon soc
Many clubs, varsity sports and worked thru school. We are from Georgia USA
Good luck everyone. Will update
Just spoke to admissions today getting hotel recommendations. The woman happened to casually mention that we’ll all know by the end of March. Sadly we won’t be able to make it for the ‘Own The Dome’ weekend. She got into UConn and the exact same weekend is Uconn’s accepted students day. They are 4.5 hours apart from each other and we would be beyond exhausted if we tried to do both in one weekend. So we will do ‘Orange Preview’ the previous weekend instead. She is trying to pick between three schools and needs to spend time at each one. This is too big of an investment to make an impulse choice.
