Last year RD decision emails were sent 3/17 - so this year its next Fri 3/16. Not expecting anything today
Need prediction for merit $. 31 ACT, 4.35 WGPA, top national HS, well above extra curr, sports…thoughts

If decisions do come out the 16th, what time will they be released?
late afternoon (after 4pm) is likely on Friday…admission departments tend to do this so parents/kids do not bombard with calls…everyone then has the weekend to evaluate offer letter, merit, etc.
Does anyone know if Syracuse really pays attention to your second choice major? I putN as my first choice, and Whitman as my #2. Im confident that I would get into Whitman but not so confident about Newhouse. If I don’t get into Newhouse will they really consider me for my second choice or would they just reject me?
@collegelehigh - why else would they ask for a second choice?
@byadg123 I guess what I meant to ask is how much do they weight first vs second choice majors. Are students that put whitman as their #1 weighted much higher even if they would otherwise be less qualified?
I know that some schools have a baseline acceptance criteria that you must meet to get in the door. Once in, they evaluate your application for individual programs in the order listed. I don’t think there’s any weighting one way or the other.

Is getting an email from Financial Aid a good sign? Also, my admission counselor did confirm that decisions will start going out the 16th, but they go out in waves every Friday, so if you don’t get one then, don’t panic.
@a.martin.99 was the email from financial aid asking for something or did it include financial aid award information?

@“a.martin.99” - We got email from Financial Aid too recently. It said “FAFSA info was not consistent with CSS/Financial Aid Profile info”, and provided an asset confirmation form to fill out and it requested W2s.
I’m hoping a good sign - I think they REALLY want to make sure you don’t qualify for need-based financial aid before they give merit (i.e. why give out merit if they can give you need-based assistance to the same effect).
@ZArchitecture it was more along the lines of “Additional Financial Aid information is needed to complete your financial aid application and determine your financial aid eligibility” and then goes on to check MySlice. The funny thing is, though, that I already submitted docs a while I go when I saw my To Do list, and they already sent me follow up emails saying that a sheet was missing or something and that partial information is still needed. Weird. We’ll see what happens friday!
@“a.martin.99” - Yeah, the email said what you typed, but the form they provided gave the additional explanation in the text I typed… Daughter logged into myslice based on the email, and then she sent me the forms, so I don’t know what showed in myslice that provided the forms.
yes my D received this email as well back in January. Same thing redirecting to myslice. Daughter applied regular decision.
@kbibber I know it’s hard but put it out of your mind. Everybody is in the same boat. It’s not like you are the only one that they are making wait. Odds are really good for Friday afternoon.
