I doubt they would make Monday a make up day for Friday. They do Friday so they don’t have to take a million calls the next morning - the weekend allows for a little calming down.
Guys last year the main RD round of acceptances were issued on a Friday 3/17. The equivalent this year is not this week but next Friday 3/16. I would not get any hopes up for decisions this week for bulk of RD applicants.
Decisions will be emailed. See their disclosure from the Admissions To Do Section on MySlice: “Your application is complete and ready for review. As a reminder, your admission decision will not be provided through MySlice. Admission notification will be sent to you via email.”
I got my email about 2 weeks ago but today I got my physical letter! Definitely saving it in my File Of Important Things!
Has anyone heard back from HEOP?

congrats @ski_racer we are waiting to hear about engineering too for my son – getting nervous that he hasn’t heard yet.
I’ve noticed from past year’s trends that the waves seem to be international, architecture, engineering, acceptances, denials, waitlists. Kind of in that order-ish.
@YoungOne4 - are you saying that all the engineering decisions are all out and if so, if he hasn’t heard yet about engineering, he may not be getting in?
No, more like they will be part of the first “wave.” I know several admissions were made a couple of weeks ago, and speculation (which all of this is) was that those were the “topper most” picks (across majors). Based on threads for class of 2020 and 2021, we might see int’l and arch/engineering this Friday, and maybe plain old admits (incl some engineering?) next Friday (March 16), with denials the following week, and waitlists the last week of March. That’s what seems to have been the pattern the last two years. However, it’s really anybody’s guess as to how it will all unfold this year! Good luck to your son!! And mine too, lol!
I just spoke to FInancial Aid who said that award notices would come out anywhere from 1 hour to 2 weeks after acceptance. Getting in is just the first hurdle! If D gets in the wait for $ will be worse than this. “I can go, but can I go?”
YoungOne4 thanks! Good luck to your son and everyone here!
byadg123 I know what you mean we have that same situation if he gets!
@byadg123 it is the worst part. My D is trying so hard not to get attached to any of her acceptances. The initial joy is wonderful but then practically must set in. It’s hard on them for sure.
I GOT INNNN 1.6 GPA and 840 SAT!! Cannot be more proud, this school was a safety but they gave me a 50 thousand dollar scholarship so I might go!
!
My regional counselor told me that my decision will be sent out 03/16. However, I study overseas so that might just be when the domestic students abroad/international students get their decisions. I think someone mentioned something like that in a previous post. Best of luck to all!
@PruPru25 It’s unfortunate because I feel like it’s her job to get accepted and my job to pay for it. This is particularly true for a school where she’s earned merit money.
I applied to Newhouse in November. I’m a girl from Texas and my stats are:
GPA: 90
ACT: 28
EC’s: Editor of schools newspaper (member 4 years), intern/reporter for a local newspaper (1 year), Secretary of Political Activism Club (member 4 years), Vice President of Environmental Science Club (member 3 years), and I’m also a member of a few other clubs but no leadership positions. I’ve had a part-time job for nearly a year and a half. Not very many volunteer hours, maybe 40?
Honors: UIL Academics (this is a Texas thing, I think?) Journalism Regional Champion/State Qualifier, have also advanced to region multiple times in journalism events. Attended a journalism camp at Texas A&M.
I’ve pretty much accepted that I won’t get in, since I know Newhouse is competitive and it was always a reach for me (plus I missed the financial aid deadline and I’m not exactly rich lol) but I’m still hanging on to a bit of hope. If I don’t get in then I’m looking in to transferring or maybe trying to go for my masters degree. Syracuse is my dream school.
