Did anyone get an acceptance? Waitlisted to Newhouse…June 1st is crazy
My son was waitlisted for Newhouse (Bandier). I would imagine that there would be no merit money for people who taken off waitlist, right? Actually I would imagine there is very little chance of being taken off the waitlist, period, correct? I think he just wants to make a decision and not leave things hanging for another couple of months. Thank you for any insight.
@A-a-ron waitlisted isn’t bad! They only admit 30 kids a year, and waitlist means they want you but don’t have a spot for you.

ACT: 30, 31 Supersore
Accepted to: Clemson, UMass Amherst, Ohio State, Miami, and NC State
Waitlisted: Pitt, Georgia, and 'Cuse

I think the usual rule is that there could be need-based aid but it depends on availability and is not guaranteed. I would not expect merit aid. Most schools accept very few people off the waitlist. If your student wants to wait, he should also choose a different school and make his deposit, as he may not hear until after May 1. You will lose the deposit at the other school if he gets in off the waitlist and chooses to attend Syracuse.
My son was waitlisted for ME today. Disappointing, but good to finally have an answer.
Also if you were waitlisted and you really want to go to Cuse it might be a good idea to write a LOCI

I was conditionally admitted, I have to send my financial support document from the bank to get full admission by April 15th. But didn’t get any merit,and tuition is over 76k.

That was my first choice and I got waitlisted for my second choice. Be grateful! VPA is a great school to be waitlisted at.
Son has a 1410 SAT (780math, 630 verbal). gpa 4.3. All AP and Honors classes. Great ECs. Applied as a Mathematics major and he is a legacy because his father went there. WAITLISTED. My husband now hates Syracuse and is happy they lost in Basketball last night…lol
Rejected. ACT 30, Gpa 3.8. Makes no sense

waitlisted as a dual major for Newhouse & A&S - 1400 SAT, tons of sports & extracurriculars - if there anyway I would be able to be accepted as apart of just A&S before june 1st?? PLS LMK
