Gosh darn I’m hoping!

1910 and 3.8? I feel like i am going to get into syracuse but not newhouse. Mom is a newhouse alumn though…
Also we should hear around the 15th or so, correct?

Similar stats oliviajohnson. I also feel like I won’t get into Newhouse :(

So I applied to Newhouse (incase of a miracle) VPA film, and CAS Poly Sci. I have a 3.4uw, 27 ACT, numerous extracurriculars, and solid essays. How do you think my chances look for generally getting into Syracuse?

It is my understanding that your expressed level of interest greatly enhances your chance of admittance. There are many qualified candidates. If you visited campus, interviewed, or conveyed your strong in going to SU by email, that will have increased your chances.

I have visited and I am also planning to express my hope to go through an email very soon. Thanks for the response.

I have never interviewed or visited, how can I tell them I’m very interested through email?

Sent from my SGH-I897 using CC

Unfortunately, it’s probably too late. I applied ED, showed SU my commitment, had an official visit, interviewed in my home town, and occasionally e mailed the appropriate staff to confirm them as my first choice. I also had very good #'s, recs, and ECs to back that up. Good luck.

I mean, I live in California so getting to Syracuse for a visit isnt ideal. However another way to really express your interest would have been through writing strong essays that demonstrate your knowledge of the school.

And SU did offer off campus interviews throughout most of the country last Fall.

lol I showed lack of interest I think. I didn’t have the opportunity to visit or do an off campus interview because they never contacted me about that… I’m going to get rejected. =/

are we getting notified by email or regular mail or both? if so which one arrives first?

Been wondering this myself. Eagerly waiting a decision here, sucks that it’s late March we hear back.

Most colleges send out emails then the letters afterwards, because its much faster.

their websites says they will start letting people know mid march, ugh two weeks seems so far away :/

Yeah there were no interviews going on for Syracuse anywhere near me. However I do come from a lesser represented state from what I have seen in the Common Data Set.

Hey guys, just realized this thread was created! I’m a Newhouse applicant. Good luck to everyone waiting!

Hey, everyone. I was going to chime in earlier, but better late than never. I’m a current freshman here (architecture major), so if you guys have any questions concerning the upcoming weeks, feel free to ask.

Following the trend of last year and the year before, you guys should be getting your admission notifications emailed to you in waves, starting in the second or third week of March… the 15th is the day to keep watch of. They’re sent out on a Friday, and if you don’t hear during the first wave, it does not mean you weren’t accepted, you just have to wait another week or two until you find out.

Best of luck, guys!

@XCcoasterfreak, do you mind posting your stats? how is SU with financial aid?

So, is it safe to say that we should expect a decision on March 15th or should we expect a small chance that we will hear? How many waves are there?
