Syracuse Regular Decision Class of 2018

m0rethanalive: I did not receive any notice on financial aid by email, I logged into myslice and I clicked on “my financial aid” and there was my package. Good luck

is it a bad sign if everyone in my school heard back yesterday and i didnt hear back yet? Is that a good sign im going to get rejected?

D was accepted to Whitman yesterday! It was her big reach. She is over the moon. Now the hard part…is it worth paying 2x more to go here vs other options…this will not be easy.

Does anyone know when the next wave will be?

Becbec, you mean the common app Q’s? or you did more than one essay?

can’t find anyone that got rejected this week… must be rejections next week

Accepted into the college of arts and sciences for poli sci. ACT 27 GPA: 3.8. IB diploma candidate. Lots of ec and community service. Financial package was amazing. Now my top choice.

KeenOne: Many people with low incomes have very low EFC’s. My EFC is $2998 because my father is the sole provider of this household of 5. His income is $52,000.

Is it odd to be the only one in your school to not hear back yet? And also how much is legacy at syracuse because someone whose sister went there but has worse grades then me heard back and got in and i have yet to hear back…thanks.

JHH, same with me. Everyone I know applied got in this week, still haven’t heard.

DS accepted VPA - Illustration!! Still need to find out about any $$.

livvyyy, from what you heard does that mean we will not get accepted or we are just the next wave, its just unusual because usually they do it by school either accepted or denied.

DS just logged onto mySlice and saw that the only finl aid SU is offering is a fed loan. We weren’t expecting any need-based $$ but the other 5 acceptances he’s gotten have all offered him substantial merit $.

@GoSyracuseU: @PatttyyG we will be sending notifications on the way up until the middle to end of April

JHH, I just didn’t see any rejections this week so I was assuming next week was rejections

well thats not good

jhh5162: I don’t really think legacy matters because none of my family members went to Syracuse and I got my acceptance yesterday. Most people who received acceptances yesterday were from the Sciences. I got admitted into the L.C. Smith College of Engineering & Computer Science. Don’t worry this is just the first wave, the second wave will probably be next weak, you have to remember that they received 28,000+ applicants. Good luck and I hope you get in :)

Did anyone hear from heop?

Son rec’d notice of accepted to Whitman about 5pm yesterday. Fin Aid Info appeared on his MySlice soon after. Aid was 6K merit and 5.5K Unsub Fed Loan. Disappointed in merit. His stats: 2010 SAT; 3.9UW/4.8W GPA. I’d appreciate knowing stats and merit amounts for others.

He really likes Syracuse, but its impossible to justify Syracuse at over 2x the cost of UNC, his in-state option. UNC even offered better need-based aid–3.5K sub Fed Loan and 2K Work Study.

dcasarrubias1: thank you very much, congrats on your admission. I applied for the business school so that makes sense. I was just worried that everyone in my school that applied heard and got admitted which i thought meant that i did not.
