Syracuse Regular Decision Class of 2018

@Twinmom2014 Congrats to your daughter on her acceptance. My son was accepted to Newhouse. He was super excited, until in came his acceptance to NYU. Now he is really trying to struggle with his decision!

I applied to the school of management but was accepted on Friday, March 28th to VPA… anyone else? could someone please tell me how long you must wait to transfer into another college within syracuse? Could I possibly transfer back into management after one semester?

@Happy4Him4 Thank you and congrats to your son. Both are great options! Its hard because Newhouse is so prestigious. Unfortunately we had to scratch SU off the list, No FA or merit. (Wow!) Odd how the schools determine all this. D was accepted to Connecticut College and Union in the meantime. SU is the only school that my daughter was accepted to that did not offer her merit.

Monroe3…From the Syracuse course guide. Hope this helps.
Management Applicants must earn a 3.3 cumulative GPA and 24 credits at SU, including two of the following: ECN 203, MAT 183, MAT 221, MAT 284 (or equivalent substitutes). Additional applicants may be considered as spaces become available, beginning with the highest GPA. Students should visit the Whitman Undergraduate Office (SOM 215) for additional information and advising.

thanks, @funfatdaddy! Hopefully I don’t have to wait too long to transfer

My D was H.S. class of 2011 and Syracuse was the last school she heard from. We were notified on or about April 3rd that she was waitlisted. …: I think some of these schools who wait so long actually lose some great kids, who already make their decisions Jan - March.

Accepted to Newhouse, Newspaper and Online Journalism program (would double major in that and Environmental Science, plus a minor in Communications Photography). Also accepted to the Honors program. Chancellor’s scholarship and around $44,000 in financial aid, but still may not be able to afford it (future starving journalists really can’t accumulate much debt during college).

Anyone going to “Own the Dome” night on April 13th? I’m torn between that and the Engineering one on April 12th…

accepted to College of Arts and Sciences! 3.38 GPA, 1680 sats. Accepted for pre-med program. Great Essay and supplements. 2 consecutive years of honors. National Spanish exam participant. Lots of volunteer work and extracurricular’s/jobs However, received a D and C and C+'s sophomore year, so don’t give up hope Received 39,000 in financial aid.

Got waitlisted to David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics

I got wait listed to CAS.
June 1st is pretty much a long time for me to wait, so I guess I’m gonna go with Northeastern…

@curiosity1019 I love you.

@curiosity1019 you recieved yours in the last wave?

This is what I learned from reading last year’s thread:

If you check your Financial Aid status, and it says “You have no financial awards at this time.” You may be admitted. If it says something like: “There is no financial data available” your most likely weren’t

Could everyone go online and post their status here so we can see if there is a difference among us or if everyone has the same message?

“You have no financial awards at this time.” is on ours. We are down to the wire here. We have already booked flights to visit other accepted student dates. This is so dissapointing. It was high on our list but not hearing by the April 1st date, is like a bad April Fool’s joke.

@curiosity1019 Congratulations!!! my DS was waitlisted with similar stats so just curious are you OOS?

email came today… waitlisted - will be notifiied by June

Also just got wait listed.

syracuse college of engineering anyone? Feedback

I am out of state from New Jersey
