Syracuse revoked decision?

Hi all,
I was recently accepted to Syracuse university for one of its more competitive majors with a scholarship. My GPA was around 3.3/4 so needless to say, i was very excited. However, this last semester, my grades have been dropping because of family issues and some senior-itis. I'm doing fine in most of my classes As/B+s. However, i have D's in Calc BC and Physics, (GPA has not dropped because the other classes balance it out) i'm pretty sure i can get these up to Cs before the end of the quarter.

My big question is, will my decision be revoked???? Any information would be appreciated!

Thanks!

It’s possible. You have 3 options:

 • Work your butt off to bring your grades up and then just send in your end year report
 • Work your butt off and immediately write a letter to syracuse explaining the situation before they get the end of year report
 • Do nothing

Get your D’s up to C’s, and you should be fine. Syracuse will probably want your grades from the end of the year, so just work hard, and do as well as possible on your finals & you should be fine.

What would happen if I told then that i wanted to go there and paid the fees and then they tell me i get revoked? My concern is that they tell me i cant go after the 5/1 deadline and i can’t go there or any other school. Is this a possibility? What should I do?

Then its hello community college!

The people that know what effect the 2 D’s (or C’s) will have work in admissions at Syracuse. You should call them and talk it over. Colleges respect students who are mature enough to face up to problems.

And by calling at this point you get a better handle on both what will happen if you do get the D’s, what will happen if you raise the grades to C’s, and also you are talking with them in time to perhaps work things out. They might suggest summer school or taking a class at a CC, for example. But if you wait until late summer when they see your transcript those options will be closed off. Furthermore if you find out now they are likely to revoke you then you find out while you still have some other college options to accept.
