Syracuse University chances?

Hey, everyone! I'm a high school junior and I'm looking to go to NYU, Carnegie Mellon, or Northwestern for a double major in musical theatre and social work/psychology. One of these three would be a dream come true, and I'd also flip at the chance to go to Syracuse. I'm gonna apply to Ithaca and Marymount Manhattan and Montclair State just to be safe, but my ideal schools would be one of the top four mentioned. So, given my potential application, what are my chances?

Also, assume that I get into the musical theatre program (another battle altogether!)

SAT: 2060
CR 690
M 630
W 740
(I do plan on retaking the SATs in October before I submit my applications, any tips on improving my scores, particularly in math and possibly CR? How high should they be?)

I haven't taken the ACT yet or any SAT subject tests or anything like that. I plan on it, though.

Thank you so much!

You are fine. In fact, a bit overqualified.

Syracuse is a match for you; perhaps it is even a safety with your stats.

Definitely in, no worry.

So I really screwed up here
I just finished my junior year. My cumulative GPA is a 2.21…
I don’t remember exactly what my freshman Gpa was, but my sophomore GPA was a 2.6, and my junior year gpa was a 2.1…
My sat score however was a 1970…

I am a minority (India , my parents were born in India, I was born here) I volunteered at a hospital for about 150 hours. I have no other ecs, my essays arent exactly anything To write home about…
I’m realty nervous. Where can I go? My top choices were
University of Arizona
University of Washington
Umass Amherst
Indiana university at Bloomington
Baylor university
Texas a&m
Penn state main campus
Syracuse

Please help, and any college suggestions would be great!

Hi, I’m really interested in Syracuse as well, in fact I’d say it is currently my first choice. Mind chancing me as well? I would like to apply to Newhouse for Public Relations. I’m also applying to NYU, Emerson, Ithaca and some in state safety schools.

My gpa isn’t the most outstanding but it has shown an upward trend and I’ve improved academically and personally since my underclassmen years. Should I retake the ACT to bring it up more or is that an okay score? I wasn’t planning on submitting the SAT score since it was very low but I suppose I could retake that as well? If I’m not the ideal match, how can I improve my chances? Any advice would be lovely. Thanks in advance.

Pretty Pegasus; it is probably not possible to double major in anything with music theatre at Syracuse, Ithaca, or Carnegie Mellon. The MT major is very demanding. Also it is very difficult to get accepted. If you haven’t been on the MT thread over in the college major section, there is a ton of information on that thread.
