Syracuse University- chances??

I'm a Junior at a large and above average high school in CT. I've taken 2 APs and 5 honors courses throughout high school, but haven't gotten A's in them. I'm looking to go into Health Sciences and am very interested in Syracuse's College of Human Services and Health Professions. I've already visited and plan to do so again in the fall. My stats are decent but my GPA is a bit low:

ACT's 28
Eng 32
Math 27
Read 26
Sci 26
Essay 10

SAT's 1940
Read 620
Math 650
Write 670

GPA weighted: 3.55
GPA unweighted: 2.93

I plan on running track in college, as our HS team is one of the best in the nation in track and cross country. We won States and New Englands in cross country and I am individually a state level competitor in track. I have already contacted the coaches at Syracuse, and am starting to build a relationship in hopes of getting an athletic scholarship or some leverage in admissions.

What are my chances of getting in???

Great chances if you improve your GPA....

Reach. A sub 3 UW GPA looks kinda scary. Everything else looks fine for 'Cuse.

Syracuse is my #1

Assuming I get my GPA up to a 3.2 UW, could I get into:

University of Pittsburgh
University of Delaware (safety)
Penn State
University of Michigan (pushing it)
Boston University
University of Rhode Island (last resort safety)

Thanks for the help

If you get your gpa to a 3.2:

University of Pittsburgh- reach
University of Delaware- yes
Penn State- yes
University of Michigan- no chance
Boston University- reach
University of Rhode Island- yes

do you like the cold weather ???? lol

haha my stats are similar to yours and i am looking at some of those schools too :D so this thread is cool.

You have no chance at Michigan. Stop thinking about it.

Weighted GPA and test scores look good, however that unweighted GPA is ugly. If I was an admissions counselor I would question your school's grading system, giving those extreme weights. I don't know about Syracuse, i'd have to see the actual letter grades in each class to make a judgment.

someone had a bad day.... alas the squirrel is right

Michigan is very competitive for OOS and is a number whore. Both your gpa and sat(less) scores won't make you a competitive candidate.
