i think skarper found out before us because its for the spring semester. and december 16?!?!? ah thats too far i was hoping it would be at least the 15th ahhhh and first batch? how do they determine who they send first?

Congrats skarper! :)

Thanks Collegegirl2594
Yeah I applied for Spring Semester, Probably that make sense !

Congrats Skarper! Hopefully we all receive happy notifications within the next week… We have to do better than those Ivies, right??

Congratulations, Skarper!

Although, to what benefit exactly does posting our statistics have? There really isn’t a point to it, and it just discourages everyone else or makes them more anxious.

Just my $.02

Posting stats doesn’t really help those who applied ED, but it helps those who haven’t applied yet. We looked at the 2010 acceptance thread to get a feel for my daughter’s odds of acceptance. It really did help us determine if she has a chance. I’m sure you don’t have to post them, though, if you are uncomfortable doing so. But it may help someone out next year! :)

I bet SU is missing out on a lot of sweatshirt sales this weekend! I was hoping to place an order for Christmas gifts, but I can’t until we know if she is accepted. I was so hoping you guys would find out today! :)

Thank you! Off course SU is the best !
I was asked a question about my stats from somebody and I just answered. But I guess posting stats could give prospective atudents an approximate overview about the admission and chance themselves ; )

I just look at the admissions process at holistic. From past experience, comparisons aren’t very effective and beneficial (on a psychological scale). Of course, I am just stating my opinion.

Regardless, at least you’re in :)

Yeah I like seeing stats six days, guys! Seriously, this is like torture.

Just curious: I’m not the only one who thinks we have a better chance being accepted to Newhouse applying ED instead of regular decision?

That’s my mindset for Architecture. They look at you holistically, and it’s a little reassuring that they will review you as an individual instead of just a number.

ED acceptance rates for SU are higher that RD rates. It increases chances.

Coaster freak: I agree about architecture.

Do you think it truly increases chances, or is it possible that the pool of applicants who choose ED are more certain that they are a good fit for the school, and are therefore more likely to get in based soley on their qualifications? I bet schools get more “long shot” candidates applying regular decision, which would bring that acceptance rate down.

Either way, chances are increased and the admittance rate is higher.
