D got in with 6K Dean’s scholarship and essentially no other financial aid, so that’s a really big price tag for us.

Strange thing is she applied to the College of Arts and Sciences, but the letter says she got accepted to a dual program in CAS and Newhouse of Public Communications.

Best of luck to those who are still waiting! Hang in there!

My best friend was accepted to Newhouse with a full ride - literally everything. Tuition, room and board, and even money left over for books. I’m so proud of her :)

I’m so confused by why syracuse would admit someone to a school they didn’t apply to. Is that typical at other colleges? I guess i could understand getting placed in arts & sciences as a default backup to, say, Newhouse; but to admit kids into specialty schools (like newhouse or ischool) without them having expressed an interest in those programs just makes no sense.

It’s not as much about the numbers as your personal qualities/interests/ambition/potential. That sounds cliche but seriously you can’t measure yourself by a number.

@XCcoasterfreak so does that mean they already made decisions for everyone? what wave you are in doesn’t affect the acceptance and rejection rates within that pool of applicants right?

Accepted to CAS, International Relations program!
