*Syracuse University ED 2019*

I’ve been love with Syracuse since I was a child and now that it’s my senior year, I’m hesitant about applying, however if I do apply, I want to apply ED. I want to major in chemistry. My GPA is 3/4.0 and 3.586/5.0 and my ACT is currently a 26. I want to apply, but I feel like I am not good enough for this prestigious school. Please let me know what you think.

I have a ton of extracurriculars.

-Lacrosse for two years (freshman and sophomore year)
-Tennis for two years (sophomore and senior year)
-member of Student Council throughout high school
-Vice President of Junior Club
-Vice President of Prom Committee
-> helped to organize the entire event
-I have also been a member of HPA (Health Professionals of America) club for two years
-Part of a student volunteering organization

Outside of school:
-I have been volunteering at the local hospital for two years with 100+ volunteer hours
-I also volunteered at a blood drive HOSTED by the National Red Cross last September
-I have also helped to raise awareness and created a fund for Earthquake survivors

Hi ilove2read. If you’re very sure that you want to go to Syracuse then you should apply. If you can interview with them that would help. I don’t think you’re a long shot for them, especially for the school of arts and science. You usually stand a better chance of getting in if you apply early decision. Make sure you can afford the school by running through the net price calculator. You seem like a hardworking student. Your grades may not be spectacular, but with the strength of the rest of your resume and an interview, I feel that you can get in. I’m not a counselor but have many friends who’ve gone to Syracuse.

prestige? syracuse? no reason you won’t get in unless you’re poor. they want higher achieving poor folks. if your family is able to pay 40 to 50k after the “scholarship” they offer, you’re good.

chemistry is a very hard major and given your struggles with HS doubt you’ll graduate.
