*Syracuse University ED 2019*

@chaz123123‌ Did they talk to the director of admissions today? or a while ago?

@bexx277 Best of luck! I applied ED for Bandier as well! Fingers crossed for SU!!

Best of luck to everyone! Not to worry… We will find out soon enough!!! :)))

@theo133‌ it was today!

@chaz123123‌ Ahh thats exciting!! So you said this friday after 3pm?

Hopefully we all hear a positive decision by this friday! This waiting makes me so nervous lol.

I just want to know already, this waiting is making me crazy! I applied ED to Newhouse and made Arts and Sciences my second choice. I’m a strong match for Arts and Sciences but Newhouse is a reach and a longshot. If I’m rejected from Newhouse do you think I have a strong chance at being accepted into my second choice (Arts and Sciences)?

Most likely @collegegal2424 - arts and sciences is a lot less competitive than newhouse and ED helps your chances a lot no matter what school is it. Good luck!!

@collegegal2424 I am in the same exact boat as you! Newhouse is my number 1 and Arts and Sciences is my 2nd choice! And Newhouse is also a bit of a reach for me. However, we have opportunities to transfer into Newhouse after the first semester of our first year, the second semester of our first year, or the first semester of our second year. As long as we have a 3.5 GPA or higher we gain priority over the incoming high schoolers who are applying because by then we will already be enrolled in the university. I talked to some students on campus tours who were in Newhouse and they had taken this route.

Best of luck! :)

2 for 2. Got another acceptance today. My safety school, Springfield College. Applied to 7 schools.

Syracuse - ED 1st choice
UPenn - reach school
Ithaca College
Drexel University
Clarkson University
St. John Fisher
Springfield College - safety school

Let’s go 'Cuse!!!

ughh!!! this waiting is agonizing. I need to know!!!

@collegegal2424 I’m in the same boat as you. Newhouse is the dream, but I would be happy getting into Arts and Sciences rather than not getting into cuse at all. Best of luck to you!

how much do you guys think location plays into acceptance? i know probably not a lot, but if I’m applying from an area that most people don’t want to go to cuse, do you think that might give me a little bit of an edge?

@z199709‌ I completely agree with you, I tried to stress it during my interview that if I wasn’t accepted to Newhouse I would still be really happy attending Arts and Sciences! Cant wait until we all finally know already I’m going insane!! Good Luck to everyone!

Hi everyone! I’ve posted a couple of times before and I know it’s a little late (well, very late) to post my stats but here they are!
GPA: 3.7 UW, top 20% of class (My class size is about 120)
SAT: 1710 (all 3 categories), 1200 CR/M
ACT: 26
AP: World History, United States History, AP Biology, AP Calculus, AP English
EC: All-County jazz band (lead alto)/concert band (first chair flute and piccolo), community service, weekend job, varsity cross country (captain), varsity indoor and out door track and field (captain for both), various awards through school (We get awards called student of the quarter or excellence in effort awards. Totally lame, but it gives you a nice opportunity for a confidence boost.), National Honor Society, National Tri-M Music Honor Society, etc

I went for an interview and the guy who interviewed me was so sweet! We had a nearly identical high school experience. He ran cross country and played the jazz clarinet. He even talked to me about this really big invitational that he went to! Needless to say, the interview went very well and he got the image that I am very involved, which he said is a perfect match for SU. I am, however, slightly worried about my SAT/ACT scores. I applied ED to Arts/Sciences for Neuroscience. I recently was accepted to the University of Vermont but SU is my first choice. I’m so nervous! I hope everyone else gets in. You all seem more than capable of doing so! I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you all and I hope I see you next year!!

We’re getting closer everyone!! The admitted students pages at http://admissions.syr.edu/youradmission/</a> have been updated for 2015!! Ahhhh anxiety rush again

Someone told me a friend of hers has already heard back but didn’t apply ED. This probably isn’t credible unless she applied to a specific program. @Theo133 AHH that’s so exciting!!! :-SS

@Emdann‌ how cool would it be if we all got in and then got to Cuse and were like “Hey remember when we were all freaking out on a college chat board a few months ago?” lol that would be so funny!

Counting the days!! I’m so nervousss

@theo133 Nothing like mass hysteria to bring a group of people together… Hopefully I can meet all of you in person some day!

@katew1013‌ I love it! Yes hopefully… That would be so fun. Anyone considering a Learning Community of they get in? I’ve been looking at the Creativity, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship (CIE) Learning Community…

@theo133 I haven’t even let myself think about housing! The learning communities definitely sound like a really cool idea though, so I would definitely consider it
