Just got my move in pass for SU and it says I’m in Lawrinson hall , kinda bummed because ive seen a lot of negative on it and I wanted Sadler. Anyways I was wondering the pros and cons of Lawrinson!? Thanks!
Congrats on your admission to SU, @ZBAXTER . You should not be bummed about Lawrinson and consider yourself to be very fortunate. Many moons ago, I was a freshman at SU and lived in Lawrinson Hall. As an alum, I have gone back many times and visited Lawrinson - my ex-roommate’s son lived there. Back in the day, Lawrinson was awesome! The rooms were much nicer than the cinderblock Sadler rooms, and the view, especially if you were on a higher floor, was very nice. I particularly liked the split doubles. You are aware that Sadler and Lawrinson are no more than 40 yards, perhaps less, from each other? So, in terms of the pros and cons of location, they are both the same. Lawrinson residents mostly use the Sadler Dinning Hall, though you can use any dinning hall on campus. The only negative that I can think of regarding Lawrinson is that it only has three elevators for twenty stories, and during “rush hours”, you may have to wait a while for an elevator - or you can take the stairs.
Good luck and I hope that you will enjoy Lawrinson Hall. I met the people who are today my best friends in Lawrinson.
There is good and bad to Lawrinson. The rooms are mostly split double which affords you lots of privacy. The bathrooms and laundry are new. The bathrooms are also private. The negative is that there are an insane amount of fire alarms, usually at 3:00 am. Across the street about 200 yards there is a Starbucks and small grocery store. You will love it!
how did you find out that quickly?
