Chance me for Syracuse University but specifically Newhouse. I am planning on applying Early Decision, but if i am not accepted into Newhouse will most likely not attend.

Syracuse Newhouse ED: Match

Might want U Missouri…

bump please!!!

I agree with Catria.
It seems as if it’s a match, good luck!

Newhouse was my d’s first choice. She had excellent qualifications…not bragging but similar variety to yours overall but better (eg. Sat 2250). In the end she didn’t get in to newhouse (did to syracuse). Here’s what i want to emphasize. Newhouse is in such high demand that, at least in previous years, they’ve had no consideration for the applicants. If you look back at one and two year old postings for newhouse, you will see this for yourself. They are arrogant about giving notice within the normal time frame. There were endless postings by applicants who were torn about giving up major scholarships to great schools because their deadlines were days away and they still hadn’t heard anything from newhouse. It was heartbreaking to see how badly they wanted newhouse and were tempted to throw away great opportunities at other schools. Luckily my daughter was given notice one day before she would have lost other scholarships, so could decide. Anyway, check this out, don’t take my word for it. I vaguely remember gong back to postings from the previous year and seeing where students didn’t get their first rejection letter until august.

If you don’t mind me asking, did your daughter apply ED or RD to Newhouse?

@sofrustrating

I’m not planning on applying ED anymore. If i don’t get into Newhouse, i will go somewhere else. It’s not a big deal. I’m going to apply to Maryland, Elon and American as well and will be perfectly content at any of those schools.

I think you’ll be fine to get in.

I graduated from Newhouse in May 2013. I had a 1250 SAT out of 1600 when I applied, a 29 or 30 on my ACT, and around a 90 GPA. I was editor-in-chief of my high school yearbook, played a two-season varsity sport for three years and did sporadic volunteering. I took a few APs in English and Social Studies, I was TERRIBLE at math, and I took a bunch of art and photo classes including AP art.

Newhouse was the best decision I ever made. I’ve had amazing career opportunities because of them and the alumni network is incredible, it’s nicknamed “The Newhouse Mafia.” There is such a strong camaraderie between me and my fellow graduates. Every single one of my Newhouse professors truly cared about us, too. I can’t speak as highly about the rest of the university, but Newhouse was amazing.
