Hey guys! This is my first ever post on here and I would really appreciate some feeback from you guys. I am a senior and I have been accepted to 5 schools but I have narrowed down my list to Syracuse University and Boston University as both schools provided ample financial aid for me.
If I went to:
Syracuse: School of Transmedia- Computer Art/ Animation
BU: School of Visual Arts- Graphic Design
I understand that they are not known as premier art schools but they both fit what I am looking for in a college but most importantly, they gave me a lot of financial help. I have done a lot of research but I still do not know too much about the art programs of both schools (they were actually my safety schools) and I would really appreciate it if anyone could drop some knowledge about the pros/cons of both schools and their art reputations. I will be visiting both schools in the next coming weeks but I would love some feedback.
Thank you so much!
Hi, So I currently attend Syracuse University and I am transferring to Boston University next semester. I personally have not like syracuse due to the fact that social life revolves around sororities and frats. If you aren’t apart of one, you feel like an outsider. Also I may be wrong, but the arts program at SU runs out of “the warehouse”. This involves taking a bus off campus to get to class. Most with cars don’t mind it, but some art student feel that they are disconnected to the rest of the campus. If you fall in love with cuse go for it! I have made plenty of friends and most people absolutely love it here. I however, I know that I will be happier elsewhere. I’m a biotech major here. The TAs are awesome,in most larger classes the professors don’t really make an effort to go out of their way to help… its really on you to go to the TAs. I’m going to Boston because I want the city feel, on the weekends here I get extremely bored. I also want more of an diverse yet unified student body. Syracuse has known to be segregated. Good luck with everything, take my points into consideration, but make your own opinions once you see the campus and student body! You know you best!
