Syracuse University Regular Decision 2020 (& 2021)

Never mind! Just found the answer to my question.

Son was accepted into Falk School for Sports Management.

So if you got the financial aid changes on myslice that’s an indicator that you’ve been accepted?

Thanks CrazymamaB, we can only hope for the best for our kids, right! It’s hard to wait with them. Best to your son. I hope he loves being Orange!

@loveyounot I sure hope so!

I think everyone has that change on the financial aid portal , I don’t think it means anything - sadly :(.

before i got my official acceptance letter in an email yesterday, i technically found out I got in because under the “Admission Acceptance Form” link it listed if I wanted to enroll, reject to enroll, or defer my admission. also, under my financial aid, I do have 2017 but when I click on it, it directs me to my awards letter. best of luck to all of you!

Does anyone who got rejected have it? If they’re on here…

As far as I know, decisions come out every Friday after 3pm. I do not think it comes out by major/ school considering a person at my school heard back last week about arts and sciences and my friend heard this week about the same program (both got in). Knowing this, the last round of applicants should come out next Friday and the Friday after that. Best of luck!

Do they send an email?

Also, does anyone know when the time frame is that they will be sending or is it just random?

My son got an email. I’m not sure if everyone is notified at once or if it is staggered over a period of time.

Hi. DD was accepted to Newhouse. 4.87 wgpa 1900 SAT from NY- asian. No merit though. Our EFC is 27000 so im happily surprised to get such a big grant. i have to check w the Fin Aid office if this is correct. I’m concerend that this might be an error and they’ll take it back after we commit- Is that possible???i didnt realize that SU would be so generous.

Does Syracuse meet full need?

@starsatdawn Hi, I also clicked on the “Admission Acceptance Form” but it said the page isn’t for your use. Does that mean I got rejected? I’m worried. Help!

@AmIGoodEnough123 mine actually said that too before the day i found out. buuut don’t worry one bit. they are still giving out acceptances. maybe you will find out next friday?

Just got accepted for music education with a scholarship at the College of VPA : Setnor School of Music

SATs - 1920 overall (710 cw) (640 w) (570 m)
GPA- 3.6 overall - rose to 3.9 my first semester of senior year
Teacher Recs- couldn’t read them, but I know one was very good ; have my doubts about the second one
Essay/Supplements- strong, showed a lot of passion for the school and my program
APs - AP English Comp (4 on exam) APUSH (4 on exam) taking AP Environmental Science, Ap Literature and AP Comparative Politics/Economics senior year

Extracurriculars

  • weekly volunteer work at local hospital
  • participated in a drama club for 6 years
  • participated in a total of 4 different choral ensembles throughout high school (went to a performing arts school, so I also took classes in music history/theory/performance etc)
  • founded and am president of my high school’s knitting and crocheting club
  • took private voice lessons for 5 years
  • On my HS’s varsity gymnastics team for 2 years (our team won 3rd in the city championships twice)
  • participated in a summer program at George Mason U

Had a strong performance audition, made sure to ask a lot of questions and show a lot of interest and professionalism throughout

I think the major factor that led to my acceptance was passion about the school!
My weakest points were probably my low gpa and my second rec letter

@mt72323 Just saw the same change on DS’s page. Did you get a decision after seeing the change?

My S has that link too. I’ve seen so many of these portal changes that don’t mean anything. Hang in there - we’re almost at the finish line!

Admitted 3-18 to Whitman
1770 SAT
4.1 gpa
Lots of extracurriculars (deca, govt, my own club, etc)
Volunteering & working frequently
Deans scholarship but not enough aid at all
