Have all the notices that were sent been acceptances? Any one get declined yet? Wondering if they do all acceptances on a rolling basis first and then leave the rejections last for all in one shot. Would hate that. If anyone knows of anyone who actually got a rejection letter can they let us know!
I know from reading previous year posts a lot of rejections went out on what will be this Friday…and a lot of wait lists went out on the first Friday in April. I’m trying to hold on to hope
@fschil Syracuse admissions on Twitter said that they send a mix of everything throughout the week and it’s not only sent by category like acceptances or rejections…who knows/: if what you read is true I guess I should just lose hope now
what were your stats? @fschil
I got accepted
My son just got accepted. He does not know yet - he is gonna have a COW!!! This was a real reach for him from stats perspective but Captains of 3 Varsity teams and loads of other EC’s, a good essay, 17 AP/IB/Honors Classes - I guess made the difference!
So happy for you! How exciting !
I was wondering if anybody knows why I was accepted for a major I didn’t list on my common app. I was accepted into the school of Visual and Performing arts for the communications degree. On my common app I put my first choice as Newhouse for advertising, second as Whitman for marketing, and third as Falk for sports management. I didn’t really expect to get into Newhouse but expected to get into Whitman or Falk. In the acceptance letter it said “You are admitted to Syracuse University’s College of Visual and Performing Arts, Communication and Rhetorical Studies program for the fall semester 2016! While we are unable to admit you to your first choice in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, this alternative program will provide a fascinating and rigorous place to begin your studies.” Why wouldn’t the Admissions office look at my second and third choice after my first?

Same thing happening to me. Applied for Whitman as first choice, newhouse as second on common app but got the same thing in my acceptance email as You are admitted to Syracuse University’s College of Visual and Performing Arts, Communication and Rhetorical Studies program for the fall semester 2016!". Not sure why
Joining the club with you:( my twins have been waiting to hear since August of last year. They submitted really early hoping they would be considered first among the Regular Decision but nothing yet:(
@pleaseletusin I hope you hear double good news soon. My twins applied to 4 schools together, and it was torture to hear one by one if they got in or not (actually torture to hear for all the apps!)
My twins applied to 23 schools total and 2 of the same. Only waiting for four more decisions! Syracuse is the last outstanding for my son.
Good luck to your son. Doubly hard with two at the same time!
Are emails being sent to our common app emails or the ones we set up for our NetID? I forgot the NetID one.
Yes I agree. My twins got accepted to Purdue University, Drexel University, among other schools. These two are most comparable though I think to Syracuse. I don’t know. This whole college process has been very complex and confusing to figure out. August is a very long time to wait until now, especially if Syracuse is planning on declining them. They will be heartbroken. We visited there 3 times and my daughter did an overnight with the IT girls and they both fell in love with the school more each time they visited. They’ve been referring to Syracuse as their school all this time as it felt like home to them. It’s going to be hard for them to re-direct their minds if they get declined. I just hope their applications haven’t been sitting in a decline pile all of this time without being notified. That would upset all of us. We’re all trying to remain positive that there is still hope. Good luck to everyone still waiting.
Rjcushing and Ahafezi …did either of you ever find out why you got accepted to a school you didn’t apply to? Did you call admissions? I wish that would have happened to my daughter as she has training and interest in the visual and performing arts program as well.
Any SU Bandier Class of 2020 news??
