Hi, I am a senior in high school and have finished applying to colleges. Right now my top two are Elon and Syracuse, but I’m not sure which one of the two is better for me. I am going to be a biology/pre-med major with a minor in spanish. If anyone could offer any insight on these two colleges and what your opinions on them are, I would really appreciate it. Happy new year everyone!
See where you get in, see what you can afford, then re-post.
These are two wildly different schools in different parts of the country. Have you visited the campuses to get a feel for what type of environment you’d be happiest in for 4 years? You’ve got one school of 20,000+ vs. one with enrollment of 6,000. One in a major city, one a good drive away from any decent-sized cities. One in the NorthEast, one in the South. They’re both excellent schools, but the experiences would be completely different. Where do you see yourself?
I have visited both, and I loved both of them. They are completely different size-wise and location yes, but I’m looking more towards academics.
Academically, you could sensibly choose either. The schools are simply that close to each other by measurable standards, particularly with respect to your academic interests.
Elon is 60% female, so if you are a male that might influence your decision.
You need to wait until 1° you see where you’re admitted and 2° which one is affordable.
Have you run the NPC’s? Which had the lowest net costs?
