Syracuse vs. Boston College

Hey guys!

So I'm stuck between BC and Syracuse (Capstone Honors). I know I'm going to get biased views, and I'm not going to make my choice based on these replies, but if you guys could tell me why you chose Syracuse over your other schools that would be helpful. Or anything else you guys think about Boston College and vice versa. Thanks!

bumppppppp :)

I’m going to Syracuse next year but if I was in your situation I would go to Boston College… What is your intended major?? As for me Syracuse has been my top choice since I was a kid so it really wasn’t a tough decision to make, despite getting into a number of excellent universities. The thing that most attracted me to Syracuse was the emphasis on applied learning and required internships for certain majors. Also the SU network has a great deal of notable alumni, that I’m sure this will come in handy when it’s time to look for a job… Another reason that SU stood out was its campus, it’s really the only place that I visited that truly had this amazing feeling about it. Besides the beauty and gorgeous buildings that were all renovated recently, it has a very college like atmosphere with the grass and all of that. Finally the Whitman school is probably the main reason that attracted me to SU, despite its mediorcre US News and World Report ranking. The Whitman school was recently renovated in I believe 2005 and the building is technologically sound. It has all the latest technology and also has team rooms to work on projects in. There is also this program called the Orange Value Fund which allows you to invest real money under a group of faculty advisors. For me Syracuse just felt right, best of luck in your decision I hope this helps.

Thanks! BC was my 2nd choice and Syracuse my 3rd. I’m planning on majoring in History and then proceeding to either law or medical school. But thanks for your input!
