syracuse vs nyu vs bu vs lots of others

I know they are a lot of them and they are random. But can you give me information about the following universities/colleges. I want to major in french and elementary education.
Syracuse
New York University
Boston University
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
Loyola Chicago
Hope College
Hawai'i Pacific University
Thanks for your help!

google.....

Wisconsin is a better school than all those for that combo.

Look into the Peabody College at Vanderbilt University. Peabody is one of the best schools for elementary and secondary education. Secondary education majors are required a second area of study for which you could pursue French . Not sure if that is required for elementary ed, but you can certainly study it as a second major.

For elementary education, do whatever will be cheapest for you.

What state do you live in? I'd recommend staying in state, or going to a private that's known for good merit aid.

I know boston university gives out a significant amount of merit aid. . .madison and michigan state have the two best grad programs in el. ed. so looking into the future that may be something to consider

Go to the school nearest you if you plan to major in elementary education. It is not a high-paying field and not worth large student loans.

Seriously. I don't understand how future teachers are willing to spend the equivalent of 6 years of salary on a degree?

That said, of your list, I've heard great things about Loyola Chicago.

I don't know about your other schools...but I went to both NYU and Syracuse, so if you have questions about those two I'd be happy to answer them.

Many NJ districts start around $40k for teachers. For barely 9 mos work it's not bad.
