I was admitted to both Penn State University Park and Syracuse U. I want to major in finance and economics/accounting and break into IB on Wall Street.
I do not take into account weather and cost. Things that worry me are academics, career opportunities and campus environment.
My main goal is to transfer to top target school. However, I need to have a plan B if I fail to transfer.
As from what I’ve heard Penn’s Nittany Lion Fund is better that SU Orange Value Fund but it is really hard to get into NLF and I don’t know much about OVF’s competitiveness.
I know that both are athletic schools with big party life but partying is not as important to me as academics. I also do not want to feel left out if I don’t join fraternity.
And last but not least. I am an international student and I would love to have diverse community with a big chunk of international students.
So the essential question is which school will help me more to chase my job if I fail to transfer.
Please, feel free to share any thoughts you have about those two schools.
Did you apply to Sapphire at Penn State? Deadline is Friday.

it’d be a big differentiator.
Please just be aware that you need a 3.5 GPA to officially declare yourself as a finance major at Smeal. It’s a tough program, but that’s why it’s also highly regarded. I would compare the entrance to major requirements for both schools carefully. Here’s the most recent ETM for Smeal: http://advising.psu.edu/entrance-major-requirements-smeal-college-business-2018
