just finished sophomore year..have started looking into colleges and would like somewhat of an idea as to where i currently stand in terms of admission, and if i am even looking at the right schools. also, i would like to pursue a pre-med education. probably major in biology or chemistry (nothing set in stone at this point obviously, but definitely amongst my top interests). i am aware you can pursue pre-med at basically any undergrad school, but i would prefer to attend a school with solid programs in science.

gpa: 3.7 unweighted (have always taken most challenging courses available)

rank: roughly top 15-20% of class of 380

sat: 1700 (only took it once so far, and didn't prepare at all..was very disappointed with the score, so i will be taking it 1-2 more times with much more preparation. aiming 1900+)

ap courses: world history (3)...will have also completed biology, chemistry, calc BC, us history, macro, by end of high school

extracurriculars: tutor, coach/umpire/referee for community sports, volunteer summer reading programs at local library, retail work, lifeguarding work, honor society, student coalition, varsity basketball, certified in lifeguarding/cpr/aed

have looked primarily at: Syracuse University, University of Pittsburgh, Siena College, SUNY Cortland, University of South Carolina, Penn State, University of Miami, University of Maryland, University of Massachusettes (Amherst), West Virginia University, Boston University

thank you for your time and feedback!
