Hey guys I had a quick question. On the Student Link page it offers me a deal for four monthly T passes apparently at 11% off. Do you guys suggest this or should I buy them on the fly at school? Thanks in advance.

The way the math works out, I think you need to take the T about 8-10 times a week to make it worth it. So it’s really dependent on you, but personally, I didnt take it anywhere near that many times (I just finished my freshman year). In my experience, you’ll probably take the T on weekends a few times, but not often outside of that. Especially if you live on the same side of campus as your classes, but even if you need to come from west to CAS or SMG, the BU bus is probably more reliable, and free anyway.

My friends who had the T pass did often end up lending it out, way more than using it themselves.

Thank you so much

Second not buying one. The paper tickets are easily lost, but you can buy a credit card type reloadable card that is easy. Our DD was pretty active, and she only loaded it 3 times this year. Lots of walking - walking - walking.

That’s another thing - Boston is an insanely walkable city. From Warren to Newbury is about 10-15, the Prudential is about a 20 minute walk, and Copley is barely 5 minutes past that. Even in the cold, as long as it isn’t snowing/raining, walking to even these places off-campus really isn’t that bad.

The other frequent use of the T, for me and my friends anyway, was going to Allston for dinner/parties - and even that ended in walking back most of the time since the T stops running so early.

Alright thanks for the advice! I know I’ll be trying to go to the Quincy Market/North End area a lot.
