T Schreiber Studio Vs William Esper

Hi Everyone,

I am a working actor looking to move to NYC to further hone my craft.
I have been doing a lot of research into conservatories in NYC and have heard a lot of great things about the William Esper Studio 2 year program and T Schreiber studio 1 year program.
The main thing I like about the T Schreiber studio is that there is an opportunity to be involved in his off-off broadway productions- which would be great experience and also allow me to form connections/ be seen by people. However, it does seem like William Esper has a better reputation.
Which school would you say is a better for someone who has already trained looking to further hone their craft?

Alan

I only know of the Esper studio from a Broadway actress who sings its praises.

Ok good to know. Yeah I am hearing a lot of great things about his studio.

If your goal is to be an excellent actor, it takes time, and training. A program that promises productions is not fully focused on training.
Check out Terry Knickerbocker Studio. He taught with Esper for over 25 years and still is at NYU/Tisch. Amazing program.

You could try posting this question on Audition Update or the Backstage forum. Both if those are geared to professional actors, who likely will have more insight on this than a forum for high school seniors looking for colleges.

William Esper has a solid track record. Perhaps you should read The Actors Art & Craft by William Esper. It might help you figure out if that is the type of training you want.

Thanks for your help everyone.
