t14 possible?

I know you're probably sick of these types of questions but I'm highly curious because i'm deciding between corporate/securities law or continuing with my MPA and going audit!

Undergrad: Texas A&M University
Degree: BBA Finance
Minor: English (creative writing) & History
GPA: 3.1
LSAT: 180

I was in a few investment clubs during my stint at A&M, but I never had a leadership position. I currently work at Dell as an analyst, and I'm looking to go either to law school or business school (MPA for my CPA, not MBA), if I have a chance with either. My GMAT score was 702 which is so so, but I'm hoping to retake it when I have time later.

MY GPA is abysmal because I switched from biomed engineering to finance my freshmen year, and because I was kind of a lazy arse.

UT Austin is probably my best bet, but after living in Texas for YEARS I really want to try to move up into the northeast. My dream (in every definition of the term) school would be Columbia, but I'm being realistic here.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I don’t know what’s harder to believe: that you got a score that makes absolutely no sense on the GMAT or that you have a 180 and you have no idea where you can get into.

UT-Austin still isn’t part of the “T14” classification since that denoted schools that were, at one time or another, Top 10 institutions according to USNEWS.

What agpyn3w said. 702? 720? If the former, what are you smoking.

Your grad degree holds little to no weight for law admissions.

The switching from Biomed -> Finance first year is trivial with that GPA. I had a 2.7 after my first 4 quarters of being in Comp Eng and I graduated with a 3.65 (unweighted, not LSAC) after switching into math/econ.

Northwestern gives substantial admission preference to splitters with work experience–it’s your only hope.
