I have 3k to buy a laptop. Which one should I buy?

What are you looking for in a laptop? Mobility, power, style, etc., etc.

Mainly, I was wondering about the utility of a tablet pc. I'm not an organized person and I highly doubt that I would make full use of the tablet.

I just wanted to see the relative merits of each from your perspectives.

Also, which laptop do you think would tend to have the highest resell value?

I would def. buy a macbook pro (I am VERY biased though). They have high resell values, compared to windows comps atleast, and have much better features. If you're not an organized person it will be perfect cause apples are kind of self organizing. Everything is extremely easy to figure out and use.

Another great thing is that apple laptops are just like the toughbooks but with all the creative advantages of apple. I've spilt mountain dew all over mine, dropped it on its monitor, put my whole weight on it multiple times(these are accidents. I always leave my laptop at the bottom of my bed so sometimes i wake up and step on it, then i realize that I'm not on the floor.), and colored the cute little apple on the top yet it still works like new. Actually, friday we had a hail storm here and i was carrying my powerbook outside. Still works.

Tablets only have one nice use which is taking notes in class. I must admit I'm jealous of my friend who has one because he just writes down all the notes. It doesn't make any noise yet he still have them saved in his computer. I have to sit there making noise typing out what I want so some of my friends get mad at me.

P.S. macbook pro's can run both windows and osX so you can play any video games you want and they have photobooth and a built in iSight. I think it's worth it.
