Tablets

What's your opinion of tablets? I'm looking at the Thinkpad X200/201 series tablet.

I just got an iPad the other day and absolutely love it. Its great for taking notes and its suprr portable. Look into it if you need something to supplement a laptop.

I’m gonna try getting the thinkpad tablet also. It’s nice.

I’ve had an iPad for a few weeks and it’s a great machine. I also have a MacBook Pro and desktops and use the appropriate one for the task at hand. Lately, though, the iPad has been taking time away from the other systems because it is so portable and fast.

i would just go for the x201 w/o tablet
tablet features simply aren’t worth the premium right now

hi did either of you guys buy the thinkpad 201?? I am considering the Thinkpad 201 or the MacBook Pro I5… The MacBook Pro is a bit more expensive & I’d like to hear feeback from others!!

Thank you.

From what I’ve seen, most tablets are not built well enough to be worth it. HP tablets end up having floppy screens, thinkpad tablets are underpowered versions of their other self, etc. The only people I’ve seen who truly enjoy the tablet experience are those who have a tablet, then another computer for doing their everyday work. It’s probably better to get a real computer, then a standalone tablet like an iPad, or a netbook-tablet, then to just get a 12-inch (which is too small a screen for everyday use) tablet-laptop

In my opinion, tablets are underpowered and not that useful right now. They’ll probably get better in 2 years, just like all new tech.

Other than apple’s touch technology, laptop touchscreens aren’t always pinpoint accurate. They can get laggy and glitchy. I’ve used my friend’s HP tx2. Why write when I can type much faster?

I’ve had the iPad for a while and it is good at what it does. Browsing the web, as a trading platform if your broker support it, writing short memos (using a bluetooth keyboard), email, getting the weather, reading long documents, etc. Most of these operations need little CPU power.

Thanks. Good to know. I have the netbook for easy access and light weight but as far as function not too much going on in that department… lol thanks again!
