Does anyone have the link to the pdf version of the application??

Thanks!

Bump (10 char)

Did you fill out the request for a viewbook? If so, did it lead to a link (it’s supposed to be up already).

If it’s not there, just call them and ask. They are really, really, really (OMG) really nice.

My D is settled in and I can’t tell you how much fun she’s having already. Course pacing is kicking her rear end but she said she loves the challenge. And the faculty are beyond nice to her so far (and have called us just to say hi!)

Good luck with your app. We couldn’t be happier with our D’s choice!

I filled out the inquiry form in like May I think, so I have the link to the 09-10 application, which doesn’t help me. haha. I’ll just ask the admissions office if no one has it.

I just did my tour and interview last week and it was amazing. The architecture in all of the buildings was impressive and everything was so polished and clean (most likely because it was like the first week). My interviewer was amazingly nice like you said.

@hopeful, if you signed up for the ssat, you can apply to Taft through the ssat main menu w/ your log in ID# and birthdate.

@Exie…it’s funny how little things can affect your view of a school. I didn’t know any Taft kids growing up and we didn’t visit when my son was school shopping, but almost every day for the last three years when I go running over Memorial Bridge in D.C. in the early morning, I’m passed by an older guy riding his bike in the other direction wearing his ratty old Taft shirt. He always waves or nods and it puts a smile on my face. Most people just run along with their city blinders on. Silly thing, I know, but that’s why I like Taft!

@maddog: Most schools prefer their own forms rather than the common apps.

2010 my daughter just started there and LOVES it! Her courses are tough but she said the teachers have been great so far. She doesn’t even want to come home for their first open weekend. I am guessing that is a good sign!

My son just started as well and he absolutely loves it. It is still very new to us, but we could not possibly be more impressed with what we have seen from Taft so far.

Thanks ThatcherParent, Stats21 and Devon.

I feel the same way - wasn’t on my radar originally, but she and her Dad chose it when narrowing down schools at application time. What a lucky happenstance. He said they put it on the list because they were the nicest of all the schools he called when asking for applications and information.

Today, we held a long skype session with our D. During the chat she was interrupted by a dorm mate, her roommate, etc. They were laughing and showing us things via video (one of the teams is playing Exeter today and now I’m totally “Team Taft.” I’m sending magic wands so they can yell “expelliarmus!” - lol!. It was so gratifying for my husband to see her dorm room, how settled she is, and how much she was smiling and laughing with classmates about ordinary things. We are so in love with this school and can’t imagine her being anywhere else.

She said the same - classes are tough - but describes the teachers and her advisors as extremely nice and helpful.

My daughter’s big grin the entire chat said it all. She’s found her “Tribe.”

Fingers crossed for you 2010 Hopeful. Taft is an amazing school.

I totally agree that Taft is a great school. We also looked at the top schools and chose Taft because of the all around excellence.
