Did anyone else get a letter from the head master at Taft that said that it is evident your interviewer enjoyed meeting you, and have a good year at _____.

Someone told me not everyone gets this letter and its a good sign if you do.

Is this true?
Anyone else on CC get this letter from Taft?

A few days after I sent my candidate profile in I received this letter. It probably doesn’t mean too much of anything. I thought it was a nice gesture but don’t think too deeply into it.

I personally corresponded with my Taft interviewer after the interview, and she mentioned what a pleasure it was to meet with me. Plus, I (or at least I think) had a fantastic interview in general. However, I received no letter from Taft’s headmaster.

Was it snail-mail or email? Because if it was snail-mail, I probably didn’t get it because I don’t live at my mailing address, and my parents for some reason didn’t tell me.

I hope it doesn’t mean anything if I didn’t get it. S:

I got a hand written letter from the taft interviewer after and I have been communicating afterwards with her everyday. But, the headmaster sent a letter during winter break saying hope you have a good winter break,it is evident mrs.____ enjoyed meeting you…have a good year at ______…
It was mail and people are telling me very few people get this letter.

Yankee: Our middle school told us that Taft’s admission’s is expert at making all feel welcome and not to consider any correspondence between the school and our daughter out of the ordinary. In short, they’re leading us all on.

Well my interviewer was a coach of a sport I will be doing at Taft, if I am accepting. But, we just talk about how things are going, when I am coming to see a Taft game, when she is going to meet with me more, when she is coming to my game, ect…

I got the headmaster’s letter too! It was a very nice gesture and definitely made me feel ‘special’, but I definitely wouldn’t read anything into it. (:

ok just someone who is high up in Taft told me its a good sign if you get that letter, they said it means that your interviewer reccomended you or something like that

I was starting to feel like a real loser but I got that letter today too. Snow storm must have slowed down the mail. Do you think everyone gets this letter? @yankee, did your coach really want to go see your games. My coach just wanted film. :(

Yeah, all my coach’s saw my games other than Choate… And I heard they only send the letter to 600 people, who were reccomended by their interviewer

@maddog, The coach wanting film probably has more to do with their schedule or your distance from the school. All the coaches I’ve talked to wanted to come watch my games and asked for a schedule… until they found out I live in North Carolina. At that point they just suggested a DVD. Bottom line, DON’T SWEAT IT! :)

I am talking about a different letter. It was sent over winter break from the headmaster… I believe everyone gets a letter from there interviewer

:( I felt special, haha I got a letter from the director of admissions with a hand-written note, and also one from my interviewer (all handwritten) :)

Last year I got no such letter, and I was still accepted to Taft (didn’t attend, however). I’m not sure about the comment saying that Taft is an “expert at making all feel welcome”. While I did like the school, I have to say that Taft has a kind of snobbish air in general, and while my AO was very sweet, I have met other admissions officials who seemed very cold. I also have several friends who attend Taft who agree. Anyways, don’t read much into the letter. After all, I think Taft accepts like 150 students freshman year, so if that letter goes out to 600 students… I guess it’s a good sign, but it doesn’t mean you’re a shoo in.
