ok guys so my first priority school is Davis accepted my TAG for bio-chem major as well as riverside and may be irvine and sb too. the thing is i only have 3.0 GPA. what happened if by the end of next spring my GPA go lower than 2.90. are they going to revoke my TAG and reject my application? or are they going to revoke my TAG but still probably accepted my application? 0.0. sorry this is prob a stupid question ...

By next spring it shouldn’t matter, because the college will have either accepted or rejected you. The colleges only require you to finish your spring courses with a “C or better” in order to get in.

really? last i knew, there was a list that details what grades you had to get in which classes. i think almost all of them required at least a b.

Well if your TAG agreement requires that, than it would be obvious to do what your TAG/TAP requires of you.
I guess I can be more clear about my point to the OP. Of course lowering your GPA will lessen your chances of getting in to those schools, but by then having your TAG rvoked really won’t matter, because by the end of spring there will be nothing you can do. Once you are accepted at your destined school, the only thing that can screw you over is getting a D in your final semester at CC.

so you said that if i got accepted in those school by April but at the end of spring semester which is around May, and i got a lower gpa then 2.90, but i got B or higher in all the classes. there is no way they could revoked my application because of my gpa?

wherever you get in, you have to maintain an overall 3.0 gpa. take some fluff classes that you KNOW you can get an A in or something…i think you might have a tough time at a UC if you can barely hang on to a 3.0 now

UCSB needs at least a 3.2 GPA to fulfill TAG.

No, your application will not be revoked. I got my first C’(s), of my college career, during my last semester at CC; It did not affect my admission what so ever. Just think of it like senior year of high school. Not sure if this goes for Pre-reqs, but the schools you are refering to are not too strict about it.

And all Bs is a 3.0 gpa overall. You should be fine.

The TAG clearly states that anyone with TAG acceptance must maintain above a 2.0 gpa in each semester after appying for TAG and above a 3.0 overall gpa by time of transfer. This includes spring 2011.

Thus if your gpa was 2.9 at the end of spring it absolutely could, but doesn’t not have to, lead to the school revoking your admission

Tony, have you experienced this first hand before? stop scaring the guy! He shouldn’t be stressing over this.
A friend of mine had a 2.9 something last spring; he did not get his TAG revoked and still ended up at UCI. Just don’t test it too far, and if the TAG agreement requires you to get Bs or Cs in certain courses, you should do your best to get the required grades.

@collegeisforlosers: No, I have not exerienced it first hand and I did infact mention that a drop below a 3.0 gpa does not result in your TAG/admission automatically being revoked.

With that said, why would want to risk this? Just study a little harder and make sure you don’t drop below the minimum requirements! Moreover, if the OP can barely hang on to a 3.0 gpa in a very competitive science major at a CCC, how do you think he/she will fair at a UC?!

Bottom line, fulfill the minimum requiremnts. If you can not do this you don’t deserve an admission gaurantee and you shouldn’t be surprised if it is revoked

@ the OP,
I think the gpa to be maintained after having your TAG accepted might vary depending on school and/or major. I also got my UCD TAG approved and it says that I have to maintain a 2.90 gpa and above for all UC transferable units. Not sure if that pertains to overall gpa as well though.
Just to be safe, don’t let up. Keep working very hard to get the best grade you can to keep that gpa up.

yea thanks guys, these informations are very helpful. the reason i got 3.0 because of my ge classes. im doing really good in all my major classes. the reason i asked because i just wanna know.

thanks again! =]
