Well I’m a community college student preparing to start my course work for UCD College of Engineering. I was wondering if anyone knew when exactly I would need to begin my TAG application if I wont be applying to UCD until November of 2012 and hoping to enroll in the fall of 2013. If anyone can help me out, thank you in advanced! :)

this is a question best answered by the academic counselor at your community college. that person is the resource you would use for the most up-to-date, accurate information. good luck!

Hello! I’m transferring to UCD this fall.

For the 2011-2012 school year, some requirements have changed. The minimum GPA required to submit a Transfer Agreement Guarantee is now 3.2, up from 3.0 in previous years.

Since you’re applying for fall 2013 admission (it’s great that you’re preparing well ahead of time!), be sure to check the UC Davis Transfer Admission website to view any more changes in requirements, if applicable.

If a Davis representative goes to your community college, they can definitely work with you now in preparing to submit a TAG and transfer to UC Davis.

[UCDavis : Transfer Admission Guarantee](Transfer Admission Guarantee)

If you were to be transferring to Davis in the fall of 2012 you would be submitting your TAG application in Sept and applying in Nov. So for the following fall you would submit your Tag next Sept (2012) and apply next Nov.

I would certainly set up an appointment with your transfer counselor at your CC. Our counselors already had one TAG workshop in July (for fall 2012) and they plan more in Aug and Sept. You should use this next year to meet with them and make sure you are all set with having all the classes you need.

I signed a TAG for fall 2011, the year UCs stopped using paper applications & actually started my online application July 2010 (yes, I was anxious to get it started!).

The TAG application is due late September (usually the last day or so) so if you wanted, you could start the application early, meet with a counselor and get your TAG approved and sent well before the deadline. So you’re way ahead of the game, which is good! :D
