I went from CSU->CC trying to get into a UC next year. I was wondering how I figure out what classes transfer over. I talked to my counsoler and at the time, she said her guess was the majority will be accepted. I want to verify this and see what classes I need to be taking this summer. I am particularly concerned about my math and english, as those 2 courses need to be completed prior to the Fall of next year if I want to TAG then. Any help?

The English courses I took (both w/ passing grades) Eng 114, Eng 214

The Math I took I got a D in, but it's DS 110.

Both @ SFSU

I went from SJSU->CC-> and now UCLA.

I didn’t tag because UCI doesn’t allow you to tag with 4 year units, but I don’t know about the other schools.

In trying to figure out which courses transferred, the best thing I could do was look at what classes from my CSU had equivalents at my CC. From there see if those CC courses transferred to the UC. For the most part, they all should transfer.

So would English 114, 214, and DS 110 transfer over?

DS 110 - Business Calculus

Eng 114, 214 - First year written eng composition, Second year written eng composition

They should. I took English 1A and 1B at San Jose State.

i didn’t take 214 at sfsu but one of my friends did and she said it doesn’t transfer. you’ll have to retake english 214 (english 2 at most cc’s) because there was no ‘critical thinking’ component in it at sfsu and the uc’s won’t take it because of that.
