TAG program Question

I've been at two CC's so far but only one of them is from San Diego. In order to be in the TAG program, I had to have taken all my classes from a CC in SD. Since I have taken the majority of my classes from the CC in SD, will that give me somewhat priority in terms of being admitted to the school over someone who has a slightly better GPA even though I am not fully in the TAG program. Is there such a thing as partial TAG program? My friend told me that's what his counselor told him is that since the majority of his courses were taken at the required CC then he had slight priority over other students who took their courses at a different CC out of the city or state.

What sucks is, I took all my GE courses at the other CC but I've taken all my major requirements at the CC in SD. I don't see why I'm not qualified for the TAG program :(
Otherwise, I would have had guaranteed admission :(

You got bad information at some point. If you meet all the qualifications for TAG, if doesn’t matter which CCC you took them at. There’s no such thing as partial TAG. You either have a TAG or you’re just in e regular pot with everyone.

I think there are several points of confusion here. UCSD has two very similar programs. They take part in TAG. They also have a similar program called UniversityLink. That second program requires you to take the classes for your major at one of the listed San Diego area schools. For the TAG program you can take them anywhere.

But in order to be in either program you need to have applied for them. It sure sounds like you did not fill out a TAG program application back in September. So you are not a TAG applicant at all. For UniversityLink you need to help applied when you started school and part of the program involves meeting with a UCSD counselor. Sounds like you weren’t part of that program either.

I don’t think you are taking part in either program, so no guaranteed admission.
