I’m a CCC student applying this year as a CS major and am currently creating my TAG for UCI. The thing is I will only have 45 units by the end of this fall. I do not know which classes I will be taking in the spring as the class offering ares not yet available. I have done all prereqs except the second semester of Java as it is not offered at any nearby colleges and the second English class which I will do in the spring. Do I leave the spring semester planned courses area blank?
No, put what you are planning to take in TAG and in the Nov application. They need to see the 60 units and the course trajectory. Then you can update in the January update (TAU) and note in the additional comments at that time why there are differences, if there are. That will suffice.
From what I’ve heard, most counselors have a projected schedule that’s not released to the students until the end of the quarter/semester prior. That might be something to try looking into. They could give you an idea what to take based on what will be offered.
Since I’m done with prereqs do I just take any transferable classes?
All you have to do is look at last spring’s catalog. More often than not, the same classes are offered. Just choose some courses you like. If it doesn’t pan out, correct in January, as noted above. No one knows their spring schedule in September.
