Hello, I have already sent in my TAG to UCSB for next fall of 2018. I have a 3.76 GPA so far, and applied for a major in Economics. I have been in contact with my counselor and I am set up to complete all the requirements for my tag. My only question is regarding the UCSB mathematics requirement for the TAG. I am currently taking Calculus 2 at my CCC and realized that my load is too high for this semester. I am considering taking a W and instead taking Calculus 2 next semester. I read online that for UCSB needs your UC mathematics requirements to be finished before Fall of 2017. Is Calculus 1 enough to fill this requirement, or do both Calc 2 and Calc 1 need to be completed by fall of 2017 for me to be considered eligible. Thanks so much!
This would also be my first W. I’m not sure if that makes a difference.
I have no idea about UCSB TAG criteria for your major, but “UC mathematics requirements,” in general is referring to 1 MATH course (it can be calculus, precalculus, intro to statistics, etc.) completed before Fall 17’. They also require 2 English courses. So, it looks like you’re a good candidate for TAG. Hope that helps, good luck!
Calc 1 fulfills it.
