Can you share the logic of the tag drop downs? Sometimes there are multiple options for the same choice. For example, if I am posting in this forum, I can choose both UC Berkeley and University of California at Berkeley. I can create UCB or GoBears. If I do, will they be stored in the library and be visible to everyone? Are the tags intended to help people search for things on this website, or to drive traffic to CC from search engines? What is the purpose of having multiple tags for the same thing?
Second, we have international students posting who are tagging “American University” and “Study Abroad.” Yes, they are looking to apply to an American university, but not THE American University. Likewise, I think the study abroad tag is intended for students from US schools who are studying in another country for a term.
Is there a way to better help people chose the most appropriate tag?
