SDSU has a TAG program only for the community college’s in the local area which I am currently in. To get a TAG you need to complete your GE courses and do the lower division at the CC maintaining the GPA required for your major. I finished all of my GE courses and currently doing my lower division. This semester I got D’s and was wondering if I can still apply for the TAG at SDSU if I retook the classes and got a better grade? I’m just worried because the D still shows on my transcript even if I retake the classes. I am planning to apply for the TAG next year.
@angelxsam - there’s a minimum GPA required for TAG and (as I understand it) you frequently need to rise above the minimum GPA to qualify.
Here’s the info on repeating courses fro the UC site:
"For transfer students: If a college/university student completes a 4-unit course and earns a D and then repeats the course at a different college/university, this time offered at 3 units, and gets a C or higher, does UC award 3 units of C and one unit of D?
“In determining eligibility, UC would use only the course in which the student got a C. During the selection process, however, campuses may apply locally determined rules and might include one unit of D in the calculation of the student’s GPA.”
So I would definitely retake those courses!
