TAG Transfer. Identical before/after focus?

<p>I am planning on transferring from either Woodland community college or Sacrament city college to UC Davis. But before I choose which community college, I would like to know if I must have the same focus in community college as the major I'm applying to. I already know about the transfer requirements, but are their any requirements beyond that?</p>

<p>The reason I ask is because attending Woodland would be more convenient because it's half the distance (I will be biking), but doesn't have the Computer Science major. I would like to take some of Sacramento's online courses to fulfill some of UC Davis's major's transfer requirements but I'm not sure if it is feasible whilst taking courses at Woodland in person.</p>

<p>Edit: So from these 2 links, sacramento city college is the better school since it offers the entire physics sequence and recommended CS courses.</p>

<p>I know this is a stretch, but if you go to woodland community college, I highly, highly doubt you’ll be admitted into UCLA, and even if you were, you are way behind. You’ll take 4-5 years instead of the regular 2 after transferring.</p>

<p>Taking the entire physics sequence at ucla on top of your upper division courses? You should’ve taken them before transferring. All of the courses listed in assist should be completed during your 1st and 2nd year.</p>

<p>If it takes 2-3 years for you to finish upper division classes at UCLA, how long do you think it will take to do them AND all of the classes you’re missing that you didn’t do during your lower division years? I’d say you’d be at UCLA for 4-5 years and that’s being generous. Maybe 6-7 is more like it…</p>

<p>It’s pretty much the same… Sacramento city college has more major pre-reqs. Woodland community college is missing almost everything. </p>

<p>If you go to WCC, and you’re missing that many, don’t bother applying. Missing that many prereqs is an automatic DQ.</p>

<p>Let’s say you go to WCC and get into UCD. That’s awesome and all, but… now you’re taking all those major prereqs at an inflated cost and in a UC system. Why? You’d save thousands of dollars taking them at a CC. Not to mention they’d be easier since it’s 16-18 weeks instead of 10 weeks (debatable)…</p>
