I have applied for TAG and am now working on the UC app.

My question is: Are there any negative effects (such as TAG being denied) for having different college rankings chosen for UCSD (muir, warren, etc.) on the UC app and the TAG app? I'm asking because I accidentally put them in the wrong order on the TAG application. So is it okay to change them on the UC app? Or should I order them exactly as I did on the TAG application?

ex. I put warren 1st, revelle 2nd, etc. on tag. But I put muir 1st, warren 2nd, etc. on UC app.

I would keep them the same. As a transfer student, there’s no difference between Muir and Warren, because with IGETC, you don’t have to take any more general education classes for either of those colleges. There’s no benefit to being in one or the other. I believe with Revelle and Roosevelt you would have to take more writing classes than IGETC fulfills.

bump (Bring up [your] post) for you emks342, as I’d like to know the answer to your question too.

Sweet news zambonibecky, that’s good to hear – may I know how you found out about this though?

Do you know if the same would hold true with (Thurgood) Marshall college? I ranked that as my first choice on the TAG application – if Marshall requires additional general education classes after our completed IGETC, is there any way I could change it to Muir and Warren? I want to be done with all gen ed classes before I start UC.

* This curriculum is a series of courses that meet GE requirements at UCSD’s Muir, Marshall, Sixth, and Warren colleges.
Students who follow IGETC are also welcome at Eleanor Roosevelt and Revelle Colleges, but additional coursework may be required to fulfill GE requirements.
Partial IGETC is another possibility, allowing you to clear some of the GE requirements-if you are choosing a major that requires some lower-division coursework once you get to UC San Diego, this may be a good option for you. Partial IGETC certification may be completed after transferring to UC San Diego.
