According to the TAG requirements for UCD, a 3.33 GPA is required for managerial economics. However, I only have a 3.25 as of summer 2013. From what I've read, grades for Fall of 2013 do not apply for TAG, but it do apply for our UC apps.

With that said, I'd like to ask a few questions regarding my application for this major.

Is managerial economics considered an impacted major in UCD?

Has anyone been accepted into TAG with a GPA close to the required GPA?

Does a huge upward trend in my GPA affect my TAG apps?

I am attending my 3rd year in a junior college accumulating over 70 credits and planning to have 80+ by end of Fall 2013. Is there a disadvantage for students with this type of statistic?

Do you have a link that says it is 3.33? Last year it was 3.2.

I don’t think so. I’ve been told it’s not. I got accepted missing some prereqs so my guess is that it’s not impacted.

I don’t think they’ll accept any TAG applicants with a lower GPA than the required GPA. There has to be a cutoff somewhere.

No. As long as you have the required GPA, that’s it. It doesn’t matter if you went from a 4.0 -> 3.33 or a 2.5-> 3.33.

No. You can take as many units as you want at CC. I tagged into Man. Econ with 70 something units. I left CC with around 80ish.

Thanks for the reply emprex. I appreciate it. I can’t find the source that stated 3.33 was the GPA requirement for TAG right now. I’m pretty sure I saw it though.

Do you mind sharing what your transferable GPA was?

you can see a list of the impacted majors on the UC Davis TAG website under “resources for students”. The GPA required is also given on that site.

Managerial Economics should fall under College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, but only Biotechnology, and Viticulture and Enology are listed.

It say that “TAGs are open to all majors at UC Davis.” However, the link only redirects to information about the majors, but not necessary information about TAGing with it. When I look for transfer information within the webpage of Managerial Economics, it redirects me back to Davis’ tag website.

Maybe I did read something wrong. I’ll stick with what you guys say until I attend a transferring orientation.
