Can I send my TAG application to all the available UC campus, but only apply to three of the UCs on November?

How would you rank the 6 colleges at UCSD? After I submit the TAG application, can I change the priority?

With the TAG on file, what kind of GPA do I need to transfer to mechanical engineering at UCSD? My GPA will be 3.52-3.56 after Fall.

Any input will be greatly appreciated!!

1) No, if you apply to TAG for a campus you’ll also need to check the box for that campus on the regular UC app.

2) You can’t change the order once you submit it. Generally speaking, Muir, Sixth, and Warren are the top-3 choices.

3) Mechanical engineering is an impacted major at UCSD, and thus TAG is pretty much useless. You’ll be competing with everyone else regardless of whether or not they have TAG. 3.52 is pretty good, but it’s probably at the lower end of what that major accepts at UCSD.

thank you for your inputs, Grimes99.

lol I should have applied to UCSD last year when mechanical engineering wan’t an impact major yet… If I got rejected from UCSD, should I go to UCI or UCD?

I’m pretty sure mechanical engineering was impacted last year also… generally all the engineering and a lot of the science majors are.

No. According to the mae website…

Impacted Majors:
Due to high demand, some engineering majors at the Jacobs School have been designated as oversubscribed. They are:
- Mechanical Engineering (Effective Fall 2009 for freshmen. Effective Fall 2011 for transfers)
- Aerospace Engineering (Effective Fall 2009 for freshmen. Effective Fall 2011 for transfers)
