Hello, I am a college student who currently attends a community college. I want to transfer out, but at the moment I don't have 45 quarter units to fill out the TAG application. I'm positive that I will complete my 90 quarter units once spring quarter ends, so I am filling applications to transfer out (once the filing period starts). If I do this, what's really the difference between filling in a application for TAG and filling in a application for admission at a UC. Will my chances of getting admitted into a UC lower themselves? Or will I have the same opportunity of getting admitted than those who filled in the TAG application?

TAG is short for “Transfer Admission Guarantee”. Meaning that if you complete all of the requirements and submit the TAG application on time and correctly, you are guaranteed, as opposed to regular admission where obviously there is no guarantee, regardless of your stats.

Hmm. Alright, thanks so much for your help! Let’s hope I do get into UCSC without the TAG.

Good luck. :)
