TAG

Hey guys.

I’m curious about the accuracy of the TAG gpa calculator. I listed all my classes and the grades I received in them and I get a GPA that’s a bit higher than the GPA I calculated with my calculator. The method I use is: (attempted units*4)/attempted units.

Should I trust the GPA in the TAG website?

Thanks!

I noticed this too, except I didn’t calculate my own, I just compared it with my GPA on my unofficial transcript.

Since they were only different by 0.01, I didn’t worry about it that much. Is there a big difference in yours?

My gpa in the tag website is .04 higher than the one I calculated.

Hmm… thats a pretty big difference.

Does your unofficial transcript have a similar GPA?

My unofficial transcript only has four classes. I am certain of the grades I’m going to receive this semester though, so I added those as well.

When I only have the first four classes, the both GPA’s match.

Strange

Have you triple checked both your math and the TAG website? All of the units match? (I.e accidentally putting a 3 unit class as 4 units?)

Yup. I’m confused. I mean, I want to use the higher GPA but don’t want to be seen as a liar :stuck_out_tongue:

You’ve done nothing wrong if you submit your TAG with the GPA as listed. You can’t control how it is calculated, you can only input the grades as you have earned them.

Oh. I’m not concerned about my TAG app. I’m wondering if I should use that GPA for other UC apps.

You don’t put in GPA on UC apps, you just list your classes, grades, or IP/PL if in progress or planned.

Ohhh. Okay. I hope it’s the same GPA as in TAG! Thanks!
