Tailgate for LSU (tent location)

As some of you saw in a prior thread I am throwing a tailgate with my friends form Tider Insider (Bama sports board) this Saturday.

lil bro just set up the tent and it’s in a great location that will be super easy for everyone to find. The tent is right next to light pole W39 on the quad. You basically walk up Colonial Drive to the 2nd diagonal path and it’s right there.

The tent is white with “Caravan” written in small letters along the top.

Here is a link to a quad map so you can see the exact location for yourself. http://www.uagameday.com/football/documents/quad-map.pdf

Tailgate will start around 1pm and go up to about an hour before kickoff.

Cruisin’ down 65…T-town arrival noon tomorrow.

AWESOME! BYOB? Is there anything we can bring to the P.A.R.T.Y?

I have no idea what to expect, except an UNFORGETTABLE time! I know how things work @ MIZZOU but I “hear” it’s Little League compared to BAMA.

NOTE TO SELF—Take it all in with plans to teach the “Little Leaguers” how to play with the BIG Boys;)

A friend is making gumbo and a few others are bringing dishes. I’ll be providing the beer and soda/water and I imagine a few will be bringing a bottle or two of the hard stuff.

You don’t have to bring anything but yourself. However if you want to bring something I’m sure it won’t go to waste.

Look forward to meeting you and the others on Saturday.

Just an FYI. If you get to the tailgate and are looking for me specifically ask for either “Robert” or “Casino Exec”. Most of the people there will be from the Tider Insider board and they won’t have any idea who NJBama is :-). Though I guess if you ask where the guy from NJ is they’ll know who you’re referring to.

From what I’m seeing on the news, this weekend will be like no other. They said that on Saturday there will be so many people in T-town that for that day, it will be Alabama’s most populated city.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen ESPN show up 2 days early, set up, and begin broadcasting for a regular season game.

I’m so glad that it’s a home game. Bama is soooo much prettier than LSU.

Thanks, NJ. See you on Saturday. We’ll be the ones with the chocolate covered macadamia nuts. :)

I look forward to seeing you all at the tent!!!

Can you all take pics/ video and post somewhere? Would love an insider’s take on the day! Have fun, be safe!

Sent PM for FB

Thanks, NJ! I’ll pass the info on to hubby and daughter. They’ll be by to say aloha!!!

Roll Tide, y’all, and have a great weekend!!

I can’t wait for next year to be able to come down and experience this stuff! Hopefully my daughter will make the cheer squad so it will be even more exciting (and more reasons) for us to come down!!! Please post pictures somewhere! Roll Tide!!!

Karen

Roll Tide!

I’m looking forward to meeting y’all at the tailgate and cheering on the Crimson Tide! I’ve visited the College GameDay setup and can definitely say that campus is getting VERY busy.

Again, Roll Tide!

I hope my D gets to meet you, SEA_Tide! I feel like I know after reading everything you post on here!! Have an amazing time at the game!! Wish I was there :(

Yes, D said campus is electric. She and her dad are by the ESPN GameDay spot right now. Apparently he was on College Football Live. I do believe he thinks he is the one is college. Lol!!!

Younger son said that when he went into The Ferg, ESPN was set up in there for some reason. He wasn’t aware of what was going on by the stadium, so I told him to go by when his classes ended. He’s probably there now.

The campus looks great on TV…the leaves by the stadium are gorgeous. I have been on LSU’s campus many, many times and there’s NO WAY it would show as well on TV as Bama does. LSU is messy…poor landscaping.

Like, m2ck, I’ve enjoyed seeing what the campus and Tuscaloosa look like on TV. I particularly enjoyed the in-car interviews with Tom Rinaldi and Nick Saban. I was trying to figure out what Saban’s commute route is (he apparantly takes Rice Mine Rd instead of crossing the Bryant Bridge to get to campus). This spawned all sorts of questions. Does he ever get stuck in traffic? Does he ever hit up the drive-through on the way home? That sort of thing.

Does he ever get stuck in traffic? Does he ever hit up the drive-through on the way home? That sort of thing

I think his travels are mostly early morning and late night. I think he lives in Northport.

Never encounters traffic. Coach Saban rolls down the road and the traffic parts like the Red Sea.

Very clever! How about the Crimson Sea !!

He was definitely driving down Rice Mine Road (the main way to get into town from the lake area) on the interviews in his car. Nick Saban lives in the Crown Point subdivision on Lake Tuscaloosa (though he doesn’t have lakefront property since his family already has a lake house in Georgia). If you’re feeling especially stalker-ish, you can look at his home on Google Maps or Bing Maps.

I guess it makes sense, knowing his work ethic, that’s he’s never in traffic during the rush hour. Plus, he has gophers for his menial tasks.

M2ck,
ESPN was hosting a fantasy football tournament (NCAA Football video gaming) type of thing. Been going on since 7a. At 2p, 56 players had been eliminated. Don’t know outcome… Students (99% male) were having a great time gaming!!

The Guiness Book of World Records “Gumbo” pot was being set-up in front of student ctr. Engineer hubby had to watch for awhile. I was inside Ferg charging phone and people-watchin’

STRIP is very lively this evening! Lots of jeering and cheering! Corndog…

Just in from the pep rally!!! So excited for the game. See ya tomorrow NJ! We will be tailgating on the quad also. Glad to share some jambalaya!!! ROLL TIDE!!!
