Tailgating in Tuscaloosa

After I read the other post about a catering co for tailgating…I looked on the UA website for info on tailgating…I didn’t see any instructions or contact info, just some articles and a video that should pics of lines of tents set up in the Quad.

If anyone has some experience with this some info would be great. Is this the only place they allow tailgating? Kind of curious what all those people do with their food, grills, coolers etc when the game starts?

You can tailgate anywhere, even in the parking decks. Just don’t light a fire. If you pitch a tent, don’t stake it down.
Sure, some people bring grills and the whole shebang…we just pack a picnic lunch (or pick up food on the way down), some folding chairs, a fold-up table, paper plates, cups, drinks, napkins, plastic utensils and some garbage bags. Take everything out of the truck bed and set it up right behind (or in front of) the vehicle and enjoy. Pack it all up and go to the game…if we have to sit around for a while before leaving, we make sure we have snacks or leftovers for later.

There are places they don’t want your stuff…usually that is marked. You have to rent the Quad tents from that outfit…it’s really expensive. As far as leaving your stuff in the tent…usually there’s someone in your group who doesn’t have a ticket to the game and just came to party.

Look here for official rules of tailgating including where you are or are not allowed to tailgate and where you will find reserved areas.

Some people drop their tent legs to a “short position” while they’re at the game…leaving their stuff underneath.
