Take a C or W. Which one before I try to transfer to UCB

Okay here is my situation. I am cc student with a 3.5 GPA. I am an army veteran with one tour in iraq. I am applying to davis and berkeley but I am not worried about Davis I am worried what Berkeley will think. I am getting my ass kicked in Calc III and with just a few weeks left the highest grade I can get is a C. So my question is should I just take a W and retake the class next semester? The teacher I have this semester has been teaching 40 years so hes amazing just ridiculously hard. I know I will get an A in any other teacher at my school. I have one previous W from a class I dropped right when I returned from Iraq but that was cause I was too mentally unstable to be going to school at the time. That was back in 2004. Alright thanks for your input.

Drop it. What if you get a D? If you can retake it next semester with better understanding and an A, this lone unjustified W won’t hurt you at all. Getting a D is guaranteed to hurt you.

BTW, how are you able to drop at this point in the semester?

I’ll agree with Rafiz ( and nearly every other CC person will agree as well) a W is far better than a C, and in some cases even a b. Definately drop it.

Thanks. I go to a CC that runs on the semester system. I finish on dec 20th so i have until this week to drop the class. I am headed to school right now to take the W. thanks for the advice

u go to occ?

no i go to cabrillo college in santa cruz

take the W, it’s REALLY hard to recover from a C.

drop! drop! drop!
